M-Commerce

M-Commerce is also known as Mobile commerce or U Commerce allows the users to perform commerce by using the mobile devices such as mobile phone, PDA, custom terminal, public mobile network, palm pilots and smart phone.  It is a type of online transaction, which involves the transfer of rights for using the services and products of a company. Today E-commerce and E-business is turning into the M-commerce because mobile devices are user friendly, lightweight, easy to use and easily available to everyone.  The usage of the mobile phones throughout the world is increasing and more and more services are being added into the mobiles such as internet access, SMS, MMS, multimedia, GPRS, WAP, Bluetooth, email, software and the usage of the Java embedded applications.

The mobile phones and other handheld devices provide the high speed internet connectivity, which provides the basis of the M-commerce.  Once you have high speed internet connectivity on your mobile phones, you can shop, sell, pay or trade online anytime and anywhere in the world.  Mobile phone technology has been widely popularized in the developed and developing countries of the world.  Today many companies are accepting the SMS payment systems and in the near future, M-Commerce will be the sales and marketing tool.  Mobile commerce has now been adopted by a large number of companies in the world to increase sales from their products and services.
