What is Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a telecommunication industrial standard and a short range communication protocol that is specifically designed for the personal area network. Bluetooth enables the devices such as mobile phones, USB, laptops, PDA, modems, headsets and PC to communicate with each other in the personal area network. Bluetooth is now commercially available and it’s a part of the every mobile phone set.
This communication technology has the ability to support both the voice and data communication simultaneously. A small and low cost transceiver radio chip is plugged into the computer, printer and mobile phone, which send and receive the radio waves to the other devices in the network. Its low price, robustness, low power consumption and more prevalent applications made it more popular.
Bluetooth enabled devices can communicate with each other in the range of 1 meter to 100 meters. In order to communicate, the devices must be compatible with the Bluetooth profile. Bluetooth can be used for the wireless communication between the PCs, communication with the mobile phones, transfer of files and for the dial up internet access. The standards of the Bluetooth are developed and maintained by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group. This technology has got the global acceptance and is being used in the large range of the communication devices.
